GMIT Library is a resource center for teaching, learning and research. Being the heart of the academic center, it is home for all the information services. The institute has an up-to-date library which is completely automated using KOHA Library software. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is connected to LAN which enables users to access databases of library resources. Which are helping for searching the books from any corner of the library. At present it has a collection of more than 41244 volumes, titles 20387 & 76 national/ int. journal/Magazine. Different sections are well established in an area of 691.1sq.mtrs. All the books are bar-coded and transactions of books are done through borrower cards. The library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for researchers, the faculty and the student community.
The Library also has an intensive Digital library consisting around 1800 CDs/DVDs and other learning resources in electronic form like e-journals, audio/videos, e-books. There are separate sections for Management and Engineering. It has other facilities such as SC/ST Book Bank facility, Audio Visual Room, Multimedia, Reprographic & Printing facilities etc. Library working hours is 9.AM to 8.PM and extended till up to 11 PM during the examination.
